Preparatory meeting in connection with the Global Partnership for Education (GPE) mission to Pakistan

Mr. Khalid Khan, Secretary Elementary & Secondary Education Department (E&SED), chaired a high-level preparatory meeting in connection with the Global Partnership for Education (GPE) mission to Pakistan.

The meeting was attended by the Special Secretary E&SED, Education Advisor ESRU, Deputy Secretary (R&I) and the UNICEF Education Team, Peshawar, along with relevant stakeholders.

The session focused on a joint review of GPE-funded programs being implemented in collaboration with UNICEF and Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office. Progress, results, key challenges, and the way forward were discussed in detail, which will be presented to the Global Partnership for Education mission on 19 May 2026.

The meeting also deliberated on future funding opportunities under Global Partnership for Education to further strengthen provincial education priorities within the framework of the Partnership Compact and Education Sector Plan (ESP).
