ESEF was established under ESEF-Ordinance No. X of 2002/ Amended Act 2017 for the promotion, improvement and financing of education and development of human resources in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa through strengthening of elementary and secondary education in the private sector in line with the education policy of the Government.
Functions & Objectives
- To improve literacy rate, with particular focus on female, through opening of community/ non-formal schools
- Promotion of community participation and ownership of elementary & secondary education program at grass root level.
- Mainstreaming the education imparted in religious Madaris and Mosques.
- To improve quality of education through teachers training in private sector.
- To give loans to individuals or NGOs for establishment of elementary education schools subject to availability of funds.
- Education and skill-oriented programs for disabled, retarded and disadvantaged children.
