Girls Community Schools (GCS)

• The Elementary & Secondary Education Foundation establishes Girls Community Schools to serve “out-of-schools” children belonging to families lacking access to educational opportunities. These schools are established in those areas where government is not providing schooling facility.
• 3,556 girls community schools
• In addition to this, these GCS’ provide a source of livelihood to nearly 5,597 women living in rural communities who are now teachers of the GCS’.
• These schools provide education to over 279,534 students. Of these, more than 60% are girls
