Iqra Farogh-e-Taleem Education Voucher Scheme

• The Iqra Farogh e Taleem Education Voucher scheme is an initiative to provide education to out of school children (ages 5-16) living in areas that do not have government schools.
• Allocation of Rs. 500 Million
• Through a voucher, these children are able to study free of cost in private schools. In addition to this, they are also provided with free textbooks, uniforms and shoes.
• Currently being implemented in six districts, 60,000 vouchers have been distributed so far. Of these, 50% have been provided to girls.
• The voucher scheme is currently being expanded to all 25 districts.
